Namco Classic Collection Vol. 2 is a compilation arcade game that was released by Namco in 1996. It is a collection of three popular Namco games: Pac-Man (1980), Rally-X (1980) and Dig Dug (1982). In addition to the original games, there are 'Arrangement' versions that include 2-player simultaneous play, additional enemies, updated graphics. This collection of classic arcade titles includes: Pac-Man Dig Dug Rally-X - and New Rally-X is also selectable from the Rally-X menu Rally-X and New Rally-X have been adapted to use a vertical monitor like the other games in the compilation, moving the map and scoring section from the side to the b. Overview

Namco Classic Collection Vol. 2 is a compilation arcade game developed and originally published by Namco in 1996. It is the follow-up to Namco Classic Collection Vol. 1, which was released the prior year. Like its predecessor, this second collection features three classic Namco arcade titles (Pac-Man, Rally-X and Dig Dug) and includes brand-new 'Arrangement' versions of these games with updated graphics and audio, as well as new gameplay elements. It also includes New Rally-X as a bonus game.

Arrangement Games

The 'Arrangement' versions of Pac-Man, Rally-X and Dig-Dug are enhanced remakes of the original arcade titles, giving players an updated way to experience three classic Namco games.

Pac-Man Arrangement

In addition to a new set of mazes, the Arrangement version of Pac-Man adds several new power-ups, as well as a fifth ghost named Kinky which cannot attack Pac-Man directly, but instead merges with the other four ghosts (Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde) to grant them special abilities. Some stages contain 'Dash Arrows' which give Pac-Man a one-time speed boost, temporarily stunning any ghosts he smashes through along the way. Other stages feature 'Warp Gates' that let both Pac-Man and the ghosts quickly warp to different points of a maze. Unlike the original arcade game, Pac-Man Arrangement does not loop continuously until a kill screen is displayed; instead the game takes place across twenty-three separate stages and features a boss fight against a giant mechanical ghost in the final stage.

Pac-Man Arrangement is included as part of Pac-Man Collection for Game Boy Advance. It was also included in Namco Museum for PS2, Xbox and GameCube.

A separate 3D remake also titled 'Pac-Man Arrangement' is included in 2006's Namco Museum Battle Collection on PSP. While this updated version shares some gameplay similarities with the first Arrangement, its maze layouts are different and Kinky does not make an appearance, preventing the other four ghosts from gaining special abilities by merging with him.

Namco Classic Collection Vol. 2 is just like its predecessor, but has different games, being Pac-Man, Dig Dug and Rally-X (with New Rally-X as an option). It also includes the 3 newer 'Arrangement' versions of the titles, slightly changing the formula and adding new features.

Unfortunately, Namco doesn't like re-releasing the Arrangement games too often anymore, but unlike Vol. 1, we did get a New Rally-X Arrangement... 9 years later.
